Last month I was asked to help decorate a small wedding at the UBC University Golf Club. The bride had picked a champagne coloured sash go to with yellow and white center piece. I really loved how the florist added in purple to accent the rest of the colours.
When I was doing the sash, I decided to wrap the sash twice before tying the knot. This allowed me to make a smaller, cuter bow. In addition, this method makes the chair look interested on both the front and the back, because there’s a knot design on the front of the chair as well (as seen in the photo above).
One thing I learned from this decorating gag is that you really need to know your chairs before you order the chair covers. When I got there, the original chairs setup for this room were way too big for the chair covers. After talking to the manager in charge, he was nice enough to switch out all the chairs from this room with chairs from another ball room that isn’t being used that night. This cut my decorating time short but thankfully I arrived early so I was still able to finish the decorations before the ceremony starts.
