Homemade Gifts for the Holidays?
I can’t believe we’re at the end of November already. It seems like the past 5 months just zoomed pasted me. This is the first year we’ll be spending Christmas in our new home and since I finally get to have a kitchen all to myself, I thought it’s time I get back to making edible holiday gifts. I’ve been thinking about what to make and working out a production timeline for testing recipes. Due to people going away for holidays, I’d have to make everything by Dec 11. This gives me about two weeks to work on trying and improving a recipe. (-__-) This short timeline is stressing me out a little as we also have the company Christmas party this weekend, which cuts into my baking time.
Since I’m in a creative mood, I’m also thinking of making handcrafted cards this year. I haven’t done this in a long time as well so hopefully I will do a good job. We have some red stock left over from our wedding invites which is perfect for Christmas cards. Now all I gotta do is drum up a design for the cards and bake the gifts in the next two weeks!
On a side note, Al is totally not getting into the Christmas spirit (he kinda reminds me Scrooge). Actually I don’t think any holidays excites him. There won’t be a Christmas tree at our place because 1) there’s no space and 2) he’d refuse to help set it up and decorate the tree. We do have a fireplace…hmm, maybe I can make us some stockings to hang on the fireplace. I kinda want some Christmas feel in the house, since we’re also hosting my family’s Christmas dinner. Any suggestions on how to inject some holiday spirit into Al?
